1. Lake District

You just can't beat it! With numerous idyllic towns such as Windermere and Ambleside and lots of accommodation types the Lake District is a great getaway for all the family. Covering over 2000sq km there is plenty of green space, lakes and country walks.

2. The Cotswolds

Simply charming. The Cotswolds is not short of natural beauty, we highly recommend a relaxing cottage escape. Also known as the Venice of the Cotswolds the quaint village of Bourton on the Water is a favourite for visitors. If cars are your thing visit the Cotswold Motoring Museum or for an outdoor pursuit the Birdland Park inhabits over 500 birds.

3. York

If its a little bit of history you are after then York is definitely the place for you. This walled city was founded by the Ancient Romans and features a stunning gothic cathedral amongst lots of jaw dropping architecture. There is plenty of sightseeing opportunities and do not miss out on a trip to the famous Shambles. Grab a photo at the historic street dating back to the fourteenth century, it is lined with overhanging buildings and is a must see attraction when visiting York. Bursting with history and culture you certainly won't run out of things to do.

4. Anglesey

For us, there are too many great places in Wales to try and narrow them down so we have gone with a family favourite, Anglesey! There really is something for everyone here, whether you want coastlines, walking trails, cycle paths or golf courses, Anglesey has it all. From the minute you cross the bridge you will be welcomed by an area rich in culture and heritage. Whether you want camping, cottages or a luxury escape there is range of accommodation options on offer, we recommend a long weekend or even a weeks stay.

5. Cornwall

Its no secret that the South East has some of the best beaches in the UK, with large stretches of white sand coastlines and some good summer weather you could even mistake it for the Mediterranean. Ideal for those after water based activities like surfing, evening strolls along the beach or a bite to eat at a local seafood restaurant.

If you find yourself on a staycation this year remember to plan ahead, observe social distancing guidelines, support local businesses and enjoy a well deserved break.
